Untraditional Halloween Décor Ideas

It’s coming up to that time again when all the kids want to do is dress up and go trick or treating or the big kid in you wants to carve a pumpkin. Yes, it’s Halloween and it’s an excuse to add a bit of spooky fun into the home. It may not be as big as big of a deal as Christmas, but there’s no harm in adding a little bit of Halloween into your home to get into the spirit of things. In this post we’re going to show you some great fuss free Halloween décor ideas that aren’t traditional and will still keep your home looking stylish.

Ditch traditional carving and get creative with your pumpkin! If you want to add some serious style to your pumpkin why not try something like spray painting it gold or copper? Alternatively metallic sharpies work wonders. Metallics are very much on trend at the moment for Autumn / Winter so err away from the traditional scary faces and do something a little bit more sophisticated. Take a look at our roller blinds page to see more of these on trend colours featuring throughout our collection.

Add more candles into the home. Candles are of course great for adding ambiance but they are also the perfect the Halloween decor idea as they will allow you to create a spookier atmosphere with their dim light. Try opting for candles with a high wax drip for an eerie appearance when they melt and use empty wine or spirit bottles as holders for minimal effort. Try also skipping turning on the overhead lamp for the evening and solely stick to candles – use ones with varying heights to create different levels of light.

Most of the time when we think of Halloween décor ideas, we immediately think of orange and black. It’s a bold and often garish colour duo and not one we want to incorporate into our homes. Try switching it up and opt for a more opulent, but still spooky colour combination like black and gold. Try buying on trend gold cutlery which many retailers are selling and mix these with some black candles for a Halloween inspired look that doesn’t require a drastic change in your home. It’s still bound to get you into the spirit of things though!
