Hayfever relief from window blinds

A staggering 1 in 4 people in the UK suffer from hay fever, largely caused by the allergen in grass pollen. Grass pollen is incredibly small and extremely lightweight. It’s produced in huge volumes and becomes easily airborne. Once in the air the allergen carried by the pollen is capable of affecting anyone coming into contact with it, the larger the volume of pollen the more likely the impact. We are now able to offer a solution for Hayfever relief in the form of window blinds.

 

Pollen is naturally very tacky and will stick to any surface it comes into contact with. Louvolite, a supplier of fabrics have been working behind the scenes to create a unique fabric treatment which helps capture the pollen. It’s called “Pollergen” and helps to increase the capture rate by the inclusion of a tackifier within the formula.

 

Once captured, the unique Pollergen™ formulation will denature up to 50% of the grass pollen. Essentially it kills the active element meaning the affected pollen is now harmless to hay fever sufferers.

All treated fabrics can be washed or wiped down as the active formulation continuously comes to the surface of the fabric for continued protection.

 

Independent testing by the National Pollen and Aerobiology Research Unit, trusted by the BBC for their daily pollen count reports, has concluded that a Pollergen™ treated fabric shows up to 50% reduction in grass pollen allergen when compared to a non-Pollergen™ treated control fabric.

 

There are around 27 million households in the UK with most of those including someone that suffers from hay fever. When faced with a choice between a treated blind and a non-treated blind, we believe the added benefits of a Pollergen™ treated fabric will be a first choice every time!
