Barnes Blinds at R+T Stuttgart

For those in the window treatments business the R+T Event in Stuttgart, Germany, is the world’s leading trade fair for roller shutters, gates and sun protection and it happens only once every 3 years.

Over 600 companies representing a myriad of countries came to show off their latest designs, materials, components, machinery and advertising materials at Messe Stuttgart, a large venue with 8 halls.

We had the pleasure of visiting for 2 days and seeking some great new design ideas, as well as seeing some new innovations which we can bring back over to the UK. It was also a great chance to catch up with some old faces who we already deal with.

Somfy; experts in motorisation and home motion unveiled their latest technology and explained how you can operate all of your internal and external window blinds, awnings and gates from your iPad or iPhone.

Markilux; the awning specialist walked us through their very impressive stand showing us the latest that available in the world of awnings.

Louvolite; UK supplier displaying their huge range of colours in Carnival fabric as well as a new panel blind system and new roller blind hardware.

Techno systems; the latest machine technology in the business. We had to thank our Italian friend’s for the excellent job they did installing our vertical blind machine.

The show was a great success and had it’s best year yet which tells a good story for the industry as a whole. It’s a shame there’s another 3 years to wait until the next one.
